Autumn in Umbria is a particularly mild season and interesting events are concentrated in the period from October to November of each year.
In October an important event is Eurochocolate. It takes place in Perugia and it is dedicated to lovers of the so – called “food of the gods”. During this period the city of Perugia transforms into a lively outdoor chocolate factory.
Always in October (3-4 Oct) in Assisi there are national celebrations in honor of St. Francis, Patron of Italy. They happens between solemn liturgical events in the Basilicas of St. Francis and St. Mary Angels. The most important initiative is that according to which every region of Italy offers the oil to feed the votive lamp burning in front of the tomb of the patron.

In Perugia between November 16 to November 20 takes also place “Umbria libri” (Umbria books), it is an important meeting in the Italian cultural field which involves the most charming places of the historical center of Perugia.
At the end of November, 23-27, in Torgiano the “Banco d’assaggio dei vini d’Italia” is a competition aimed at confirmation of Italian wine production and, in particular, umbrian one, especially in those places where a qualified wine is produced: Torgiano, Montefalco and Orvieto.
